On Friday 5 October 2018, Net Media Lab participated in the 2018 Researcher’s Night with the educational workshop “Program an Edison Robot!”, which took place at the Ionion Room of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”.
The workshop, which addressed primary school children aged 9-12 years old, was about teaching these children how to program a robot using the Lego-compatible Edison robots. The pupils has the opportunity to learn basic programming principles and the logic of programming and robotics through experiential exercises with the help of experts.
Over 60 pupils registered and attended the educational workshop “Program an Edison Robot!”, which took place five (5) times for five (5) different groups of children from 17:00 until 22:00.
Finally, in the course of the workshop, the new Erasmus+ project “CODESKILLS4ROBOTICS: Promoting Coding and STEM Skills Through Robotics: Supporting Primary Schools to Develop Inclusive Digital Strategies for All” was presented, which addresses primary school children aged 9-12 years old and especially children with fewer opportunities and girls to the children as well as their parents.
